30 years in the trade · insured · fixed price before we start

We plaster it. We decorate it. We answer for it. Thirty years in the trade. Plasterer, renderer and decorator in Bournemouth.

Most room jobs go wrong in the gaps between trades. We do the plaster, the render, the paint and the floor ourselves, so there is one standard through the whole job and one person to ring if something is not right. Bournemouth, Poole and across Dorset.

What we do

Everything from the wall outwards. If a job needs plaster, paint and a floor, that is one quote, one crew and one date.

Plastering and finishing

Skimming, patching, re-plastering and rendering. A wall that still reads flat under low winter light, not just flat at midday.

Painting and decorating

Preparation first: filling, sanding, and mist-coating new plaster the right way. Then two coats and edges cut in by hand.

Flooring

LVT, laminate and herringbone laid on a subfloor that has been levelled first, and trimmed tight into the skirting.

Rendering and exterior repairs

Blown and cracked render cut out, re-rendered and floated to match, then the elevation painted so the repair disappears.

Media walls and feature work

Studwork, boarding, recesses, concealed lighting, stone or timber cladding. Built square, wired before it is closed up, plastered sharp.

Property maintenance

The jobs that pile up: cracked ceilings, leak damage, tired paintwork, doors that stick. Dealt with in one visit where we can.

Renovations, snagging and drawings

Full refurbishments from strip-out to finished surfaces, somebody else's poor finish corrected, and projects built to an architect's spec as drawn.

Guide prices

We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we would rather say that here than on your doorstep. These are the figures most jobs start from, so you know before you pick up the phone whether we are in your range.

Full room re-skim, walls and ceilingfrom £650

What the price covers

Labour, preparation, protecting the room and clearing up at the end. Materials are bought at trade rates and listed at cost on your quote.

Older houses, damp, high stairwells and period detail all take longer, so those jobs sit above the starting figures. You hear that at the visit, not on the invoice.

Twelve-month guarantee — and what it covers

Work carried out to the specification on our quote is guaranteed for twelve months. If our workmanship fails in that time we come back and put it right at no cost to you.

It is a guarantee on how we did the work, not on the building. It does not cover fair wear and tear, damage, damp or movement in the structure, materials you supplied yourself, or anything done by someone else before or after us.

If you ask us to cut the specification to bring the price down — skimming over plaster that should come off, one coat where two are needed — we will do it, we will write on the quote why, and that item is not guaranteed. You cannot buy the cheap version and the full guarantee at the same time, and we would rather say so now than argue about it later.

Where a cheaper quote saves its money

Almost always one of three things: preparation skipped, one coat instead of two, or a subcontractor nobody has worked with before.

Every figure we give is fixed before the first day on site. If something behind the wall changes it, we stop and agree it with you before carrying on.

In the right range? The visit is free, the price is fixed in writing, and there is nothing to sign at the end of it.

How a job runs

You know the price before we start, the date we are coming, and exactly who is walking through your door.

Send us a photo

WhatsApp is quickest. A picture of the wall, the room or the damage and we will tell you the same day whether it is a job we do.

We come and measure

A free visit at a time that suits you, evenings included. The price comes off your actual walls, not a guess over the phone.

Fixed price, fixed date

A written price with the work set out line by line, and a start date we hold to. Materials sourced at trade rates.

Finished, cleaned, walked through

We clear up and go round the job with you. Anything you are not happy with gets put right before we invoice.

Landlords and letting agents

An empty property costs you a day's rent for every day it sits. We turn flats and houses around between tenancies and keep them right while they are let.

  • End-of-tenancy make-good: filling, patching, full redecoration
  • Tenant-reported repairs picked up without chasing
  • Rolling maintenance across a portfolio
  • Damp and damage repairs, replastering and re-finishing
  • Flooring replaced and rooms brought back to letting standard
  • One number, one invoice, one price agreed up front

Insured, and accountable for it

Public liability cover on the work we carry out, and any trade we bring in is someone we have worked alongside for years.

Materials are bought at trade rates and listed at cost, so the saving lands on your invoice rather than in our margin.

If a job needs a trade we do not cover, we say so rather than take it on and hope.

Greg Peczkowicz, plasterer and owner of GP Plastering in Bournemouth, on site

Thirty years plastering, and still on the tools

GP Plastering is Greg Peczkowicz. Thirty years on the tools — period houses, new builds, flats and rentals across Bournemouth, Poole and the rest of Dorset.

Time served on the tools and qualified here: a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering, awarded by Edexcel in 2012, on top of three decades in the trade. That is why the quote is realistic and the wall comes out flat, and it is also why we would rather turn a job down than rush it. You get the same face on site every day, the work done in the right order, and a house you can still live in while it happens.

We only work with people we trust. The ones we would put in our own family's house.

Where we work

Based in Bournemouth, working across the conurbation and the towns around it.

  • Bournemouth
  • Poole
  • Christchurch
  • Ferndown
  • Wimborne
  • Ringwood
  • New Milton
  • Wareham
  • Dorset

Further out than that? Ask anyway. Larger projects travel.

Questions we get asked

The six that come up on nearly every first phone call.

How soon can you start?

Small jobs usually within one to two weeks. Full rooms and refurbishments are typically booked three to four weeks ahead. Landlord voids and genuine emergencies we fit in where we can — ask, because the diary moves.

How long before I can paint new plaster?

Four to six weeks to dry properly, longer through winter. It needs a mist coat first, thinned and worked in. Straight emulsion onto fresh plaster is why paint peels off in sheets a year later.

Do you supply the paint and materials?

Yes, bought at trade rates and listed at cost on your quote. If you would rather buy your own, we will tell you exactly what to get and how much of it.

Are you qualified?

Yes. Greg holds a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Solid, Basic, Construction), awarded in the UK by Edexcel in 2012, on top of thirty years on the tools. You are welcome to see the certificate.

What exactly does the twelve-month guarantee cover?

Our workmanship, on work carried out to the specification written on your quote. If plaster we laid cracks where it should not, paint we applied lifts, or a floor we fitted comes loose, we come back and put it right at no cost.

It does not cover fair wear and tear, accidental damage, damp or structural movement, materials you supplied yourself, or work done by anyone else. And if you asked us to reduce the specification to lower the price, that item is excluded — it will say so on the quote before you accept it, not afterwards.

Are you insured?

Yes. Public liability cover is in place for the work we carry out, and you are welcome to see the certificate before we start.

Will you take on a small job?

Yes. One cracked ceiling is still worth doing properly. Small jobs are priced against the day rate, which is why they can look expensive by the square metre — the setting up, mixing and cleaning down takes the same time either way.

Do you work for landlords and agents?

Regularly. Void turnarounds, tenant-reported repairs and rolling maintenance across portfolios, invoiced monthly if that suits your accounts.
